Digital Lead Nurse / AHP
Job summary
Are you passionate about improving patient care and the capabilities of our clinical teams? We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Nurse who is passionate about digital innovation in healthcare. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical nursing, excellent communication and leadership skills, and experience with digital healthcare systems.
This is a critical time in the Trust's digital journey as we prepare to launch an electronic prescribing and administration project that will significantly improve patient safety and quality of care. You will oversee the implementation of the EPMA system, liaising with doctors, pharmacy staff and a range or other clinicians and IT specialists. You will ensure all clinical staff are adequately trained and will provide input into all aspects of this project.
The Digital Lead Nurse/AHP role will help lead the implementation of digital programmes at SaTH. This will encompass the engagement of clinical staff in capturing requirements, understanding clinical workflows and the provision of professional advice, enabling the use of digital technology to be embedded into clinical practice.
Main duties of the job
- The post holder will be expected to support the strategy, design, further development and optimisation of the digital clinical solutions across the Trust.
- Providing clinical leadership and experience to a range of digital/clinical projects
- To work with line managers, acting as a key player in leading change in practice, enabling the provision of high quality nursing care using digital as an enabler. Negotiating successful outcomes where resistance and challenges are encountered.
- Provide a leading role in the implementation of a range of applications, including the EPMA system, outlining requirements, assisting with the testing and sign-off of the clinical appropriateness and usability of the technology, identification of pilot wards/teams and engagement with the relevant Managers/Clinical teams.
- The post holder will contribute to clinical governance, and responsibility for setting and monitoring standards in the use of digital technology. Overseeing the safety of clinical systems, managing risk and ensuring compliance with relevant clinical safety policies, using clinical safety officer framework.
- Leading a network of digital Nurses/AHPs, Digital Champions, and Training/Floorwalking team members
- Communicating digital transformation ambitions and opportunities to the wider workforce

Person Specification
Education
- Relevant Healthcare Degree
- Registration with appropriate Professional Body (NMC/AHP)
- Masters Degree or equivalent experience
- Project/change management qualification
- Clinical Risk Management training/qualification
Knowledge, Behaviours and Experience
- Extensive experience in clinical practice as a senior nurse/manager
- Sounds working knowledge of medicines management
- Change management experience
- Experience of working across professional boundaries, able to enthuse and inspire others using advanced communication and presentation skills
- Experience of clinical information systems
- Experience and knowledge of the wider NHS informatics agenda
- Sound knowledge and skills in EPR functionality including care planning, risk assessment and physical health care
- Knowledge and experience of quality governance
- Experience implementing clinical information systems
- Experience of EPMA implementation
- Project management experience
