Maintenance Engineer

Let's play a game...

You walk onto shift and someone says:

"It's been making that noise all morning..."

Do you:

A) Slowly back away.
B) Pretend you didn't hear them.
C) Grab your tools and start asking the right questions.

If you picked C, keep reading.

We're looking for an electrically biased Maintenance Engineer to join a busy FMCG manufacturing site where no two shifts are the same. You'll be keeping high-speed production running, fault finding when things go wrong, and making sure the only unplanned stops are for tea.

Your day might include:

  • Electrical fault finding on production machinery and automated equipment.
  • PLC fault finding
  • Planned preventative maintenance.
  • Responding to breakdowns without causing one yourself.
  • Working with the production team to keep downtime to a minimum.
  • Spotting improvements instead of walking past them.

You'll probably fit in if you:

  • Have an electrical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent).
  • Have worked in FMCG, food, beverage, packaging or another fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Enjoy fault finding more than replacing parts until something works.
  • Can keep calm when everyone else is asking, "How long's it going to be?"

What's in it for you?

  • A stable manufacturing business that invests in its people and equipment.
  • Plenty of variety - no sitting around waiting for something to break.
  • Overtime opportunities.
  • A supportive engineering team where knowledge is shared, not guarded.
  • Genuine opportunities to develop your skills and progress your career.

If you're the sort of engineer who enjoys solving problems, keeping production moving and leaving the machine in a better state than you found it, we'd love to hear from you.
