Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join a growing engineering business and lead a high-performing Manufacturing Engineering team.
As the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will report directly to the Operations Director and manage a team of Manufacturing Engineers and Technicians, driving continuous improvement, technical excellence and operational performance across both existing products and new product introduction.
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will work closely with Design, Projects and Operations to ensure new products are introduced successfully, manufacturing processes are optimised, and engineering best practice is embedded throughout the business. You will play a key role in Design for Manufacture (DFM) reviews, supporting project delivery while ensuring quality, cost and delivery targets are achieved.
This Manufacturing Engineering Manager position also involves developing departmental KPIs, managing budgets, identifying new technologies and equipment, and supporting wider business initiatives including customer and supplier engagement. You'll provide technical leadership across manufacturing, mentor your engineering team, and create clear development pathways for future talent.
Working within a highly regulated manufacturing environment, you'll champion Health & Safety, continuous improvement and engineering excellence while ensuring compliance with customer and industry requirements. You'll also support manufacturing capability, technical problem solving, factory acceptance testing and commissioning activities where required.

Skills & Experience:
- Previous Manufacturing Engineering management or team leadership experience.
- Strong background within electronics, electro-mechanical or advanced manufacturing environments.
- Experience leading New Product Introduction (NPI) and Design for Manufacture (DFM) activities.
- Ability to lead, coach and develop engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, continuous improvement and KPI management.
- Experience managing departmental budgets and driving operational improvements.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and supplier development.
- Lean Manufacturing, APQP/PPAP or CAD knowledge would be advantageous.
- Degree qualified in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or qualified through significant industry experience.
