A global, high-growth Fintech firm is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its engineering team in Madrid. This organisation has expanded to over 600+ globally. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a mission-critical platform, building the financial infrastructure that empowers businesses internationally.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead initiatives from discovery to delivery, following a "you build it, you own it" philosophy for both development and maintenance.
- Collaborate with engineering leaders to design new services and components
- Coach less experienced engineers, driving the team’s overall effectiveness and technical trajectory.
- Partner with Product and Operations teams to ensure technical solutions align with global business goals.
Technology & Environment
- Backend Engineering: Extensive experience with complex software systems using Python preferred; open to other OOP backgrounds
- Architecture: Building and managing services with standard APIs and external integrations.
- Observability: Incorporating robust monitoring, alerting, and reliability into every service.
- Engineering Culture: Open Source friendly (internal and external) with a pragmatic approach to improving legacy code.
- Deep understanding of financial systems
