Data Analyst - Huyton, Liverpool

Job Title: Data Analyst (4-Month Temporary Contract - Hybrid)Location: Huyton, Liverpool Rate: £18.00-£21.00 per hour Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm (Hybrid – 2/3 days onsite)Start Date: ASAPA leading logistics organisation is seeking a confident and Excel-savvy Data Analyst to join their team at a brand-new, state of the art depot in Huyton.The Role You’ll be working closely with a team of planners responsible for designing delivery routes used by major carriers.

• Who is working on which days
• Which postcodes are being covered (and by whom)
• Where gaps exist in coverage or performance

You’ll work closely with the internal team to build a “peak model” that supports smart forecasting and resourcing decisions. The current system doesn’t track well in real time, you’ll be the person connecting the dots, spotting inconsistencies and flagging insights that will help improve efficiency.Responsibilities:

• Extract, clean, and manipulate data from internal systems (Solo)
• Build and maintain robust Excel models and reports
• Analyse workforce patterns and flag gaps in courier coverage
• Communicate confidently with depot managers and recruitment teams
• Support strategic planning by identifying if additional couriers are needed — or if resources can be reduced
• Help develop a data-led, formula-based solution for resource planning during peak

Ideal Candidate:

• Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
• Basic SQL experience (Teradata add-in ideal)
• Confident communicator – willing to pick up the phone and ask the right questions
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Ideally experience in logistics, workforce planning, or high-volume operations
• VBA, PowerQuery, or Python experience a bonus
