Application Support Specialist – Cheshire – Hybrid – Up to £40k plus bens and free lunch :)

Are you a tech-savvy professional who thrives on solving complex application issues and improving digital services? We’re looking for an Application Support Specialist to deliver third-line support for a range of business-critical applications, helping to ensure the resilience and performance of vital systems across a fast-paced organisation.

You’ll work at the heart of the technology team, responding to escalated issues, collaborating with development and service teams, and engaging with third-party providers to ensure seamless operations. This role also offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with international colleagues on shared platforms and infrastructure.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Act as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor for business-critical application support.
  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot cloud-hosted platforms (primarily Azure) and integrations with tools like Databricks and Datalake.
  • Manage third-line escalations, documenting incidents and ensuring timely resolution in line with SLAs.
  • Support mobile device management and security compliance via Intune and MDM tools.
  • Collaborate with service desk and project teams to drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain and enhance system documentation, error logs, and training materials.
  • Act as the UK liaison for group-wide application initiatives.
  • Implement changes to applications and databases in a controlled, auditable way.

What You'll Bring:

Essential:

  • Experience with Azure or AWS cloud platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 / CRM systems.
  • Basic SQL skills and ability to create and troubleshoot queries.
  • Demonstrated experience in application and device troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work independently and escalate when needed.
  • Familiarity with Agile practices and working with external support partners.
  • Background in 2nd/3rd line support environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps, PowerAutomate, etc.).

 

Desirable:

  • Industry experience in hospitality or retail.
  • Familiarity with MDM systems, SCCM, or API integrations.
  • Exposure to project management and ITIL best practices.
  • Knowledge of automation tools like BluePrism or UIPath.
