Introduction

We are looking for a talented innovator with strong mix of market research and data science skills. The right candidate will join Toluna Innovation Team to conduct experiments, evaluate or invent new tools, models or features, test and validate new capabilities, and devise innovation insights solutions to create value and growth for Toluna and its clients. This role will also serve as a liaison to Toluna’s Advanced Analytics/Data Science team to collaborate on synthetic data and other analytic innovations. In addition, the innovator in this role must champion and effectively communicate Toluna’s solutions and AI capabilities in client meetings, industry events, and thought leadership content. The Innovation Team is a part of Toluna’s Insights and Innovation function.

Responsibilities

• Be a subject matter expert on the application of AI/ML to solve common client problems
• Have a strong foundation in common statistical approaches used in market research and marketing
• Design and invent new, scalable approaches (tools, solutions, measures) that allow us to create more value (e.g., insight depth, increased speed to action) for Toluna’s clients
• Conduct testing and validation of new AI capabilities.
• Scan the environment & seek stakeholder input for new ideas and tools and to understand common client pain points that Toluna can solve.
• Apply economic thinking and a forward mindset to identify value propositions and quantify business benefits of concepts so we can prioritize which to explore or develop.
• Write white papers or blog posts that promote the credibility of the science and/or rigor behind our approaches.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of the solutions offered across Toluna companies and the key systems used

Required Skillset & Education

• 5+ years of research experience, including research design, data analysis & reporting
• Master’s degree or equivalent in research, data science, statistics, psychology, sociology, political science or other relevant fields
• Experience working driving to outcomes in highly cross-functional roles
• Solid understanding theories of consumer behavior
• Demonstrate successful involvement in designing new ways to solve client pain points.
• Experience using R or Python, Github, VSCode and common 3rd party AI/ML models
• Able to solve problems creatively and independently.
• Adaptable, proactive & comfortable with uncertainty
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to understand and communicate technical concepts in simpler terms to a broad range of audiences, including clients and internal colleagues.
• Strong English language skills.
