CRO & UX Specialist

Who are we?

We’re a forward-thinking ecommerce agency that designs, builds, and optimises tailor-made e-commerce websites. From ambitious challenger brands to high street retailers, our portfolio spans Fashion, Homeware, Luxury, and more, featuring names like Oliver Bonas, Topps Tiles, Agent Provocateur, and LeMieux.

At the forefront of digital innovation, we also operate as a dedicated AI Agency, providing e-commerce brands with custom workflow automations and consultancy to drive productivity and scale.

Above all, we believe work should be fun. We produce our best digital experience and build the strongest partnerships when our team enjoys their job and is truly passionate about what they do.

The opportunity

We are looking for a Growth Designer to drive our e-commerce optimisation and user experience offering. Sitting within our Design team, you will act as the crucial bridge between qualitative design craft and quantitative conversion data.

In this role, your CRO testing will be directly informed by your deep knowledge of UX heuristics and data analysis. You will own website experience strategies for clients, discovering opportunities, defining testing roadmaps, and executing impactful design solutions that measurably improve e-commerce performance.

As a forward-thinking agency, we also want you to champion the use of AI within our workflows - using modern tools to accelerate ideation, analyse data faster, and deliver smarter design solutions.

Key responsibilities

UX, Design Execution & AI

  • Drive the UX and Conversion strategy for key agency accounts, brainstorming and presenting ideas internally and directly to our clients.
  • Understand, apply, and advocate for UX standards and accessible design patterns within the agency, collaborating closely with the wider design and development teams.
  • Create detailed user flows, wireframes, and prototypes to visualise and communicate high-converting ideas.
  • Leverage AI tools (such as Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini etc.) to accelerate ideation, copy generation, and wireframing, maintaining a modern approach to design workflows.
  • Facilitate design and discovery workshops with clients to understand their core business problems and generate viable solutions.

CRO & Experimentation

  • Generate meaningful, evidence-based hypotheses for client testing based on deep quantitative data analysis, UX heuristics, and commercial goals.
  • Review and interpret quantitative and behavioural data using tools like Content Square, Hotjar, and GA4 to identify drop-offs and uncover actionable insights.
  • Utilise AI-driven prompts and analytics tools to speed up data synthesis, pattern recognition, and hypothesis generation.
  • Analyse and report on A/B test results (using tools like Convert.com) to ensure client experimentation programs deliver clear ROI.
  • Validate design assumptions primarily through A/B testing, analytics, and heuristic evaluation.

Skills & experience
  • Experience: 3-5 years with a proven track record working hands-on with e-commerce websites in a UX, CRO, or Growth Design capacity (agency background is highly preferable).
  • AI Integration: Experience and enthusiasm for incorporating AI tools into your daily workflow to enhance efficiency, whether for rapid prototyping, data analysis, or concept generation.
  • Design Craft: Solid experience in wireframing, prototyping, and mapping user journeys. You should be highly comfortable visualising ideas and speeding up your workflow using modern design and AI tools (whether that is Figma, Claude, or equivalent). We value your conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills over strict software proficiency.
  • Data Literacy: Confident using analytics and behavioural insight tools (e.g., GA4, Hotjar, Content Square, Convert.com) to inform design decisions.
  • Research Flexibility: Capable of conducting qualitative research (such as usability testing or user interviews) when specific client scopes require it, but highly comfortable relying on quantitative data and expert heuristics for day-to-day optimisation.
  • Strategic Thinking: An analytical problem-solver who enjoys digging into data to develop evidence-based insights and craft compelling testing hypotheses.
  • Communication: Confident presenting designs, test results, and rationale to client stakeholders and the internal Tom&Co team.
  • Organisation: Ability to juggle multiple client projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced agency environment.
