Product Manager

Product Manager | Deep Tech & AI Scale-up | £70,000 - £80,000 (DOE) + EMI

Are you a technical Product Manager who thrives in the "blank slate" phase of a startup? We are partnering with a pioneering deep-tech scale-up that is revolutionising the way we monitor neurodegenerative diseases.

Using proprietary AI technology born out of a decade of research at UCL, this platform provides a first-of-its-kind biomarker to measure cellular-level changes, supporting global pharmaceutical partners in the fight against blindness and cognitive decline.

The Opportunity:

As the sole Product Manager, you will have end-to-end accountability for the flagship AI platform. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will bridge the gap between biological research, AI engineering, and commercial deployment.

  • Own the Trajectory: Lead the product roadmap, balancing regulatory milestones (FDA/ISO) with the requirements of global biotech and pharma stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Facilitate daily synchronisation between R&D, Data Science, and Clinical verticals to translate complex science into executable work.
  • Technical Authority: Act as the primary technical contact for external partners, engaging deeply in architecture and data science discussions.

Major Requirements

  • Early-Stage Expertise: Proven PM experience in startups or scale-ups; you are comfortable building processes from scratch rather than inheriting them.
  • Scientific Context: A background in regulated, scientifically rigorous environments such as MedTech, Life Sciences, or Clinical Imaging.
  • Technical Grounding: Strong enough technical literacy to lead architecture discussions with engineers and data scientists without needing simplification.
  • High-Tempo Execution: A proactive operator who prioritises ruthlessly and views meticulous documentation as a core product component.

Logistics & Benefits

  • Remuneration: Up to £80,000 per annum + EMI Share Option Scheme.
  • Location: Hybrid (2-3 days/week office presence between Reading and London).

Note: This is an individual contributor role for a "hands-on" PM. It is not suitable for those looking to manage a team or those coming primarily from large, mature organisations.
