Business Development Manager - Waste Management Services - South

Roles/Responsibilities
  • Proactively generate new business opportunities through cold calling and field-based sales activity.

  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through to negotiation and closing.

  • Develop and grow existing customer accounts, identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling services.

  • Build strong, long-term client relationships across the hazardous and industrial waste sector.

  • Work closely with internal technical and operations teams to ensure compliant, efficient service delivery.

  • Gather and input accurate waste characterisation data to support pricing and logistics.

  • Identify and secure Total Waste Management (TWM) opportunities.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records through CRM systems.

  • Coordinate customer visits and ensure a high-quality customer journey throughout the sales process.

Qualifications
  • Proven track record in hazardous waste or industrial services sales.

  • Strong new business hunter mentality with the drive to win and develop accounts.

  • Experience selling service-led solutions rather than product-only offerings.

  • Confident in cold calling and face-to-face client engagement.

  • Able to build lasting customer relationships and manage key accounts effectively.

  • Highly self-motivated, organised, and comfortable working independently in a remote, field-based role.

  • Full clean UK driving licence.
