Job Summary
End user support and undertaking complex fault analysis, diagnosis and resolution, need to be well-versed in Microsoft Windows End User Support, particularly Active Directory and Email.
Hybrid Working (e.g. working from home) is currently unavailable for Agency Staff – and these will be helpdesk roles so they’ll need to be onsite 9-5 in NIAS HQ to provide physical end user support – particularly for Control users.
Initially the CyberSec element would involve things like User Access, Software and Device Patching and Quarantined emails etc rather than poking at Firewalls or complex Cyber Incident resolution.”
The post holder will be responsible for the support and delivery of an extensive range of Information Technology (IT) Systems within NIAS.As a member of the IT Team, he/she will provide support and assistance for the implementation, operation and improvement of the Trust’s IT Systems and Services.
In conjunction with the Senior IT Technician and IT Manager implement the Trust’s IT strategy and related policies to ensure the delivery of effective and efficient IT Services to allow the Trust to achieve its objectives.
Provide end user support and undertake complex fault diagnosis and resolution for the full range of IT Systems within NIAS ensuring that assigned faults are managed in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
Maintain the Help Desk Management System, investigating and resolving fault calls using own expertise or if necessary in conjunction with third party maintainers to achieve a satisfactory and timely resolution.
Maintain an accurate inventory in the Help Desk Management System of computer hardware and software used within the Trust, ensuring that any changes are recorded in the System and the maintenance of files on equipment loaned to provide support to users.
Maintenance and support of third party software within NIAS and manage and liaise with third parties to provide timely delivery of new services, equipment prompt resolution of faults.
Participate in a security rota to change backup tapes in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
Undertake site visits for the repair, maintenance and assessment of requirements for planned/proposed IT developments.
