Finance Systems Analyst
Job Title: Finance Systems Analyst (IT PMO)Location: London (hybrid)Contract Type: Full-time, Fixed-term 12 month Salary: c. £60,000–£70,000 per annum About the Role We are looking for a Finance Systems Analyst to join a central Programme Management Office (PMO) within a large, multi-site museum group, supporting a portfolio of IT and transformation initiatives. This role sits at the intersection of finance, systems, and delivery. You will play a key role in ensuring robust financial oversight and effective system utilisation across IT programmes, supporting budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and benefits realisation, while strengthening governance and reporting across the organisation. Working in a culturally rich, mission-driven environment, you will help enable the successful delivery of technology initiatives that support both operational efficiency and visitor experience.Key Responsibilities
- Provide financial oversight and systems support across a portfolio of IT and transformation projects
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting processes within programme and project systems
- Track and report on project spend, highlighting risks, variances, and opportunities
- Act as a bridge between finance, IT, and PMO teams to ensure data integrity and alignment
- Develop and maintain financial models, dashboards, and reporting tools
- Support business case development and investment appraisal processes
- Track and report on benefits realisation, ensuring alignment with approved business cases
- Contribute to PMO governance, including portfolio reporting, dashboards, and review packs
- Identify and implement improvements to financial systems, processes, and controls
- Support system implementations, enhancements, or integrations where required
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Experience in a Finance Systems Analyst, Project Analyst, or PMO role within IT or transformation environments
- Strong understanding of financial processes (budgeting, forecasting, reporting, controls)
- Experience working with financial systems, ERP platforms, or project/portfolio management tools
- Advanced Excel and strong data analysis skills
- Ability to translate financial data into clear insights for non-finance stakeholders
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
- An interest in the cultural, heritage, or not-for-profit sector is advantageous
