We're seeking a skilled and proactive Automation Test Engineer to join a multidisciplinary digital team. In this role you'll play a key part in delivering high-quality, user-focused services by designing, developing and maintaining reliable test automation solutions that support the company's continuous deployment environment.

Candidates will need to be security clearable so will need to have lived in the UK for more than 5 years, have full-working rights with no restrictions, with no unspent criminal convictions.

What You'll Do

  • Develop, execute and maintain robust automated UI and API test suites aligned to clear acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate closely with developers to build a shared understanding of the codebase and ensure effective unit-level test coverage.
  • Design, code, test and document scalable, reusable solutions following DevOps best practices.
  • Investigate issues, identify defects and risks, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the delivery of secure, performant, and high-quality digital services, ensuring all governance standards are met.
  • Explore innovative approaches, adopting a fail-fast mindset to rapidly deliver value.
  • Mentor colleagues in test automation, tooling and best practices.
  • Support the implementation of toolkits and APIs for integration, performance optimisation, security and scalability.

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience delivering technical solutions in a modern engineering environment.
  • Strong background working within Agile/Scrum delivery teams.
  • Good understanding of DevOps principles and continuous delivery practices.

Technical Skills

  • Solid knowledge of mainstream testing frameworks and libraries such as Selenium WebDriver, SpecFlow (BDD) and RestSharp.
  • Experience with at least one mainstream programming language (e.g., C#, Java, Python).
  • Strong understanding of RESTful services and web-service testing.
  • Ability to write effective SQL queries.
