Head of Operational & Technology Platforms

Location: Remote - though occasional expensed travel to offices around the UK

Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: Competitive salary DOE plus an excellent benefits package including pension, bonus, PMI and car allowance

We are seeking an experienced Head of Operational & Technology Platforms to play a key role in a major global IT transformation programme. This is a leadership opportunity to shape, build and mature a newly established capability responsible for the platforms that support both business operations and the wider technology estate across a global organisation. Working closely with Infrastructure, Service Management, Cyber Security and divisional IT teams, you will ensure platforms are trusted, integrated, scalable and aligned to business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and drive platform strategy, governance and roadmaps.
• Standardise and rationalise platforms across multiple business divisions.
• Lead the development of ITSM, ITAM, CMDB and observability capabilities.
• Deliver greater visibility of applications, assets, licences and technology risks.
• Manage technology vendors, budgets and platform performance.
• Build and lead the Operational & Technology Platforms team.
• Support the delivery of enterprise-wide transformation initiatives from design through to live operation.

About You

• Significant experience leading enterprise platforms, technical teams or technology functions.
• Experience working within complex, federated or multi-business organisations.
• Strong knowledge of ITSM, ITAM, CMDB, endpoint management and observability tooling.
• A track record of platform transformation, standardisation and continuous improvement.
• Experience managing technology platforms within engineering, industrial, manufacturing, energy, defence or other asset-intensive environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills.

Desirable Skills & Certifications

• ServiceNow, ManageEngine or similar ITSM platforms.
• Microsoft Intune and endpoint management technologies.
• ITIL, IAITAM, Microsoft or Agile certifications.
• Exposure to Operational Technology (OT) environments.
• Experience within engineering, maritime, defence or energy sectors.
• Eligibility for UK Security Clearance (SC).
