Programme Manager

Programme Manager

Cloud Transformation (Service Design & Transition), Infrastructure Programme

2 days a week onsite in London

Umbrella contract - £700 - £850 p/d

ASAP start, 12 month contract

Our client is embarking on a multimillion-pound, two-year cloud transformation to exit seven end-of-life data centres, migrate c. 200 applications, and reset its cloud operating model. This role is critical to ensuring the transformation lands operationally sound, supportable, and scalable.

We are seeking a senior Programme Manager to own Service Design & Transition end-to-end, operating across two major programmes, a newly established cloud platform, and a radically simplified supplier landscape.

Programme Manager accountabilities:

  • Lead the Service Design & Transition workstream across the cloud transformation
  • Define and deliver the target cloud support and operating model, clarifying in-house vs MSP accountability
  • Ensure all cloud services are transition-ready and successfully handed into BAU
  • Drive consolidation of tooling, platforms, and hosting as suppliers reduce from 20+ to c.5
  • Coordinate complex multi-supplier delivery, with clear governance, ownership, and controls
  • Establish and maintain programme governance, RAID, dependencies, and financial oversight
  • Partner with Infrastructure & Operations, ITSM, Security, Architecture, and Testing leadership
  • Manage a small specialist team delivering service readiness at pace
  • Proactively manage risk across a fast-moving DC exit and cloud migration agenda
  • Embed disciplined service design, transition, and continuous improvement as the new standard

Programme Manager experience Required:

  • Proven leadership of large-scale cloud or infrastructure transformations, ideally DC exit-led
  • Deep expertise in service design, service transition, and operational readiness
  • Strong understanding of Azure, modern hosting models, and cloud service consumption
  • Demonstrated success operating in multi-supplier, MSP-led environments
  • Strong commercial and governance capability (contracts, SLAs, supplier performance)
  • Credibility with senior stakeholders; able to set direction and drive decisions
  • Resilient, delivery-focused leader comfortable operating under pressure
