Citrix VDI Consultant - Perm - £85,000 - London

TrinIT Talent are looking for a Citrix VDI Consultant to join our customers team based in London. This is a permanent position paying up to £85,000 depending on experience.

Experienced Citrix VDI Consultant responsible for designing, implementing, managing and supporting enterprise virtual desktop infrastructure environments.
Work closely with infrastructure, networking, security and application teams to deliver secure, resilient and highly available end-user computing solutions.
Provide technical consultancy and act as a subject-matter expert across Citrix technologies and VDI platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Design, deploy and administer Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) environments.
Configure and manage Citrix Delivery Controllers, StoreFront, Citrix Workspace, Director and Studio.
Design and maintain Citrix Provisioning (PVS) and/or Machine Creation Services (MCS) environments.
Manage Citrix HDX, session policies, profiles, printing and user access.
Configure and troubleshoot Citrix ADC (NetScaler), including Gateway and load-balancing functionality.
Implement and maintain highly available Citrix environments across multiple sites/data centres.
Perform upgrades, migrations, patching and optimisation of Citrix infrastructure.
Troubleshoot complex VDI, application, performance, networking and user-session issues.
Monitor platform health and performance using Citrix Director and associated monitoring tools.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams and operational procedures.
Work with security teams to implement appropriate access controls, MFA and security policies.
Support integration with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft 365 and Azure.
Collaborate with application teams to package, publish and troubleshoot applications within the Citrix environment.
Provide technical input into projects, migrations and transformation programmes.
Conduct performance tuning and capacity planning across the VDI estate.
Provide 3rd/4th-line support and technical mentoring to other infrastructure engineers.

Technical Skills & Experience

Strong commercial experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops/XenApp/XenDesktop.
Strong understanding of Citrix architecture and HDX technologies.
Hands-on experience with MCS and/or PVS.
Experience administering Citrix StoreFront and Delivery Controllers.
Strong knowledge of Citrix ADC/NetScaler.
Experience with Citrix Gateway and remote-access technologies.
Strong Microsoft infrastructure knowledge, including:

Active Directory
Group Policy
DNS/DHCP
Windows Server
Microsoft 365
Azure

Experience with VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V.
Knowledge of profile management technologies such as FSLogix and Citrix Profile Management.
Experience with endpoint management technologies such as Microsoft Intune, SCCM/MECM or similar.
Good understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, load balancing, Firewalls and SSL/TLS.
Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting enterprise VDI environments.
Familiarity with PowerShell and automation/Scripting.
Understanding of security best practices within VDI and remote-access environments.
