Devops Consultant - Perm - Consulting - £95,000 - London - Hybrid

TrinIT Talent are looking for a Devops Consultant to join our customers team based in London. This is a permanent position paying up to £95,000 depending on experience.

We are looking for an experienced Lead DevOps Engineer to help shape, develop and support modern technology platforms across cloud and on-premise environments.

The role will involve hands-on engineering, automation, infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD, alongside technical leadership, mentoring and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to the design, development and continuous improvement of DevOps platforms and infrastructure.
• Work across cloud-native and traditional on-premise environments.
• Automate infrastructure deployments using Terraform and infrastructure-as-code principles.
• Design, develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• Deploy and manage Azure environments and services.
• Develop automation and operational scripts using PowerShell.
• Work with Git and modern source-control practices.
• Improve the reliability, scalability, security and maintainability of infrastructure and deployment processes.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve engineering efficiency.
• Develop and maintain automated testing as part of the software delivery life cycle.
• Troubleshoot build, deployment and infrastructure issues.
• Carry out code and infrastructure reviews, including pull requests.
• Produce clear, concise and maintainable technical documentation.
• Collaborate closely with engineers and technical teams across the organisation.
• Mentor and support less experienced engineers.
• Promote a culture of experimentation, learning and continuous improvement.
• Apply a security-first approach throughout the design, development and deployment life cycle.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong practical experience with GitHub Actions.
• Strong practical experience with Terraform.
• Strong experience working with Microsoft Azure.
• Strong Scripting experience using PowerShell.
• Strong understanding and practical use of Git/source control.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Experience working across cloud and/or on-premise infrastructure environments.
• Demonstrable experience producing clear and concise technical documentation.
• Experience implementing automated testing within development and deployment processes.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure and application security principles.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Experience deploying and configuring Windows-based systems in Azure.
• Experience deploying Azure infrastructure using GitHub Actions and Terraform.
• Practical knowledge of SQL.
• Experience with Azure Monitoring.
• Software development experience using C#.
• Experience with SQL Server.
• Experience working with complex enterprise technology environments.
