Payroll Administrator
- Payroll Administrator
- 6 Month FTC, SAP payroll project
- £27.5-32.5k, hybrid, immediate start
Payroll Administrator
This is a chance to get hands-on with one of the biggest payroll changes in years. From April 2027, benefits in kind have to be processed through payroll, and you will be right at the heart of making that happen, from the very first workshops through to go-live. It is a 6 month contract with a clear goal, and the kind of project experience payroll teams everywhere are going to be looking for.
This would suit a Payroll Administrator who knows SAP and has been involved in a payroll project or system change before. You will be the person who keeps on top of the detail: what has been agreed, what has been tested and what still needs fixing. If you are available now and like the idea of seeing a project through from start to finish, this one is for you.
What You Will Be Doing
- Working as dedicated support to the Payroll Manager leading the benefits in kind implementation, helping keep the project on track for April 2027
- Getting involved in requirements gathering workshops and stakeholder meetings from day one
- Documenting business requirements, actions, decisions and process changes so everyone is clear on what has been agreed
- Validating payroll data in SAP, completing reconciliations and pulling together analysis ahead of go-live
- Preparing for and running system integration testing, parallel runs and user acceptance testing
- Logging testing defects and chasing each one through to resolution
- Checking payroll calculations and outputs to make sure benefits are flowing through correctly
- Producing project reporting and governance documentation
- Supporting training, communications and business readiness so people know exactly what is changing
- Working alongside a wider change programme, with a new HR system and a new time and attendance system going in at the same time, and helping hand everything over smoothly into business as usual
What We Need From You
- SAP payroll experience is essential. You have worked in SAP and are comfortable finding your way around it
- A solid payroll administration background. You understand how a payroll actually runs, start to finish
- A good understanding of UK payroll legislation. CIPP qualified or working towards it would be a real bonus
- Some experience of a payroll project or system change, whether that is testing, a parallel run or a migration
- Strong Excel skills, as you will be validating and reconciling a lot of data
- Someone who genuinely cares about getting it right. You will be checking calculations before they go live, so accuracy really matters here
- A confident communicator who is happy speaking up in workshops and can juggle competing priorities without losing track
- Available immediately or on a short notice period, as they are keen to get someone started straight away
What's in it for you
- Proper flexibility, with just 1-2 days a week in the office and the rest working from home
- A genuinely exciting project to get stuck into, with a new payroll setup, a new HR system and a new time and attendance system all landing at once
- Benefits in kind payrolling on your CV before the April 2027 deadline, which is exactly the experience every payroll team is about to be hunting for
- The full project journey, from the first workshop right through testing to go-live, so you get to see your hard work really pay off
- £27.5-32.5k depending on experience, for 37.5 hours a week
- A quick, painless process with a single stage Teams interview, so you could be starting straight away
If this sounds like the project for you and you have the SAP payroll experience to back it up, we would love to hear from you, so apply today.
