Let’s Architect a Data Engine at Scale

At Dash0, we’re on a mission to bring observability closer to the developers and make it a part of their everyday work. We are scaling fast and looking for Staff Product Engineers to lead the architectural vision of our backend. You won't just write code; you will own the technical roadmap, drive economic efficiency in our data infrastructure, and mentor a team of brilliant engineers.

We are currently hiring for four specialized tracks. Please indicate which area aligns with your expertise:

Choose Your High-Impact Track

1. Data Engine & Ingestion (Go + ClickHouse)

• The Challenge: Design and build a data pipeline at massive scale. Solve complex puzzles regarding how to efficiently store and query terabytes of data in ClickHouse.
• Key Skills: Deep experience with high-performance columnar data stores, ClickHouse, and building scalable/resilient backend services in Go.

2. Agentic AI Platform (Node.js + Go)

• The Challenge: Master the runtime at the intersection of agentic frameworks and code sandboxes. You will enable AI engineers and ensure the secure execution of unknown and unsafe code.
• Key Skills: Deep expertise in Node.js (async debugging), Go proficiency, agentic frameworks, and code sandboxing.

3. Revenue Operations (Go + Java)

• The Challenge: Turn usage into revenue. Build rock-solid metering systems that count every event, sync with Stripe and cloud marketplaces, and ensure invoices are accurate down to the cent.
• Key Skills: Experience with usage-based billing systems, pricing models, Stripe API, and distributed systems architecture in Go (Java knowledge is a plus).

4. Intelligent Edge (Go + OpenTelemetry)

• The Challenge: Extend the OpenTelemetry Collector with capabilities to reduce data volume through smart sampling and aggregation, allowing customers to cut through the noise.
• Key Skills: Deep expertise in OpenTelemetry, Kafka, and designing high-throughput ingestion and processing pipelines in Go.

What Success Looks Like

• Within 3 Months: You’ll have shipped significant features (e.g., data pipelines, AI services, or billing extensions) impacting platform performance and reliability.
• Within 6 Months: You’ll be a go-to expert and mentor, establishing new architectural patterns and proposing solutions to the toughest scaling challenges.
• Within 12 Months: You will be a technical authority for our backend strategy, having guided the team through major scaling challenges and shaped the product roadmap.

Must-Haves (Consolidated)

• Core Engineering: Deep architectural expertise in building and scaling distributed backend systems; strong hands-on experience with Go.
• Technical Leadership: Experience owning technical roadmaps, defining engineering standards (testing, code quality), and reviewing PRDs for technical feasibility.
• AI & Tooling: Expertise in leveraging AI and agentic coding tools to accelerate development, applying deep technical judgment to verify and own the final output.
• Product Mindset: Strong product and economic thinking; ability to evaluate feasibility and resource efficiency.
• Security & Reliability: Security-first mindset, risk management, and experience with high-reliability/high-scale environments.
• Observability: Expert in OpenTelemetry and monitoring systems.
