Workshop Technician

Are you a hands-on Workshop Technician with experience in electrical or mechanical fault-finding and repairs?
We are working with a leading international organisation within the professional lighting and media production equipment sector, supporting customers across the film, television and wider production industry.
They are looking for a practical and technically minded Repairs Workshop Technician to join their busy workshop operation in West London.
The Role As a Repairs Workshop Technician, you will be responsible for the diagnosis, repair and testing of a wide range of electrical, mechanical and rigging equipment, ensuring equipment is safe, reliable and fit for use.
You will play an important role in keeping equipment available and minimising downtime, while supporting the wider workshop and operations teams.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Diagnosing faults across electrical, mechanical and rigging equipment
• Carrying out repairs, testing and preventative maintenance
• Identifying equipment requiring internal or external repair
• Tracking repair progress and maintaining accurate records
• Supporting effective stock and parts control
• Coordinating repairs with external contractors and suppliers
• Communicating repair status to engineering, inventory and management teams
• Supporting equipment lifecycle decisions
• Ensuring equipment is returned to service safely and efficiently
• Following appropriate health & safety and risk-control procedures
• Maintaining high standards of quality throughout the repair process
• Supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the workshop

About You We are looking for someone who is hands-on, technically curious and committed to delivering high-quality repairs and service.
You will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a workshop, repair, engineering, electrical or technical environment
• Basic knowledge of electronic theory – essential
• Practical experience of fault-finding and electrical repairs
• Experience working with three-phase electrical systems would be desirable
• The ability to read and interpret technical drawings/CAD would be advantageous
• Mechanical or rigging equipment experience would be beneficial
• Knowledge or experience within the TV lighting or professional lighting industry would be advantageous
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with different teams
• The ability to learn and use internal asset management systems
• A positive, adaptable approach and willingness to take ownership of issues
• A strong focus on safety, quality and reliability

Working Hours & Benefits This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position, working Monday to Friday between 8:30am and 5:30pm.
