Maintenance Engineer (Electrical)

An established manufacturing business based in Telford is looking to recruit an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join its engineering team due to a forecoming retirement.

The role offers a Monday to Friday working pattern, with no rotating shifts, within a clean and well-maintained manufacturing environment.

THE ROLE

Working as part of a small engineering team, you will be responsible for electrical and mechanical maintenance across machinery and the wider site.

The role is approximately 75% electrical and 25% mechanical, with a strong focus on reactive maintenance, fault finding and keeping production equipment operational.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Electrical maintenance and fault finding on manufacturing machinery

  • General site and facilities maintenance

  • Mechanical maintenance and fault finding

  • Working with Allen Bradley PLCs, including both newer and legacy systems

  • Signing off trainee electrical work

  • Liaising with external contractors for HVAC maintenance and repairs

  • Responding to breakdowns and carrying out reactive maintenance

  • Supporting the installation, transportation and set-up of equipment as the business continues to expand

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate will have:

  • 18th Edition qualification

  • Previous maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment

  • Strong electrical fault-finding skills

  • A practical, can-do approach to maintenance and problem solving

  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a small engineering team

Mechanical experience would be advantageous, as would experience with Allen Bradley PLCs.

A full driving licence is preferred as the business continues to acquire additional sites and there may be occasions where equipment needs to be transported or set up.

WORKING HOURS

Monday - Thursday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
Friday: 8:00am - 4:00pm

There is some flexibility around the working hours where required.

The role also includes a call-out requirement, typically one weekend per month. Call-outs are paid separately, with a call-out fee plus time and a half.

BENEFITS

  • £40,000 - £45,000 salary

  • Monday to Friday, days-based working

  • 22 days holiday plus bank holidays

  • Holiday entitlement increases by 1 day per year for the first 5 years

  • 3% pension contribution

  • Health Shield

  • Company uniform

  • Christmas vouchers

This is an opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to join an established engineering team in a stable Monday to Friday role.
