PAYE rate: £371.04 per day PAYE plus flexible holiday pay

The Lead Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, delivering and continuously improving secure, scalable, high-performing cloud infrastructure across AWS and Google Cloud platforms. The role leads cloud architecture, automation, governance and operational excellence, ensuring cloud services are resilient, cost-effective and aligned to organisational security and compliance standards.
The position provides technical leadership for cloud engineering strategy, infrastructure modernisation and migration activities, while supporting DevOps, CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code practices. It also includes stakeholder engagement, mentoring engineers, supporting multidisciplinary delivery teams and contributing to enterprise architecture and cyber security governance.

Key Criteria
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong experience designing and managing enterprise cloud platforms in AWS
- Expertise in cloud architecture, infrastructure automation and DevOps practices
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation or similar)
- Strong understanding of cloud security, governance and compliance frameworks
- Experience leading large-scale cloud migration and transformation projects
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, systems integration and platform engineering
- Ability to develop cloud standards, policies and operational procedures
- Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring and line management
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills across technical and non-technical teams
