Senior Full Stack Developer
We are sourcing a Full-Stack Developer on behalf of a public sector organisation to support the delivery of an AI-powered Personally Identifiable Information (PII) redaction service. We are seeking candidates with expert knowledge of Python.
The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary delivery team comprising Data Scientists, a DevOps Engineer, a User Researcher, Product and Delivery Leads, Subject Matter Experts, and a Senior Interaction Designer. The role will involve designing and building both the Front End and Back End of a Minimum Viable Product (MVP). An early prototype has already been developed by internal Data Scientists. The Full-Stack Developer will work closely with them to transform this into a secure, scalable service suitable for operational use.
Key responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Front End and Back End components of an AI-driven redaction service
- Collaborate closely with Data Scientists to productionise machine learning prototypes
- Deliver MVP functionality using Agile methodologies, working in fortnightly sprints
- Enhance software resilience, stability, and scalability
- Work effectively with and improve pre-existing codebases
- Apply engineering practices that support continuous delivery
- Produce clear documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC)
Skills & experience:
- Expert knowledge of Python
- Strong Front End development skills using HTML, CSS, and frameworks such as React and Angular
- Expert understanding of relational databases and data modelling
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to design and maintain software
- Proven experience delivering MVPs in Agile environments
- Experience with containerisation
- Experience improving software robustness and stability
- Familiarity with continuous delivery practices
- Experience designing software that allows users to view and interact with documents (PDF, Word) or images
- Experience working with cloud-based platforms such as AWS (desirable)
