Service Designer for IT End-User Services
This role is responsible for designing and implementing IT end-user and service migration solutions, ensuring the successful transfer and adoption of user IT accounts, devices (desktops/laptops), associated infrastructure, applications, and system access post-migration. You will work closely with a dedicated end-user migration team, including the Services Transition Lead, User & End User Compute Coordinator, hardware deployment and floorwalking personnel, and the primary IT Service Provider, all within an IT & Records Programme workstream. Collaboration across other programme workstreams and engagement with transferring sites and end users will be essential.
The post holder will be required to work from the offices 3 days per week and will be required to travel to various locations throughout the UK (expenses will be paid for the travel to other sites)
Key Deliverables
- Design and implement IT service solutions that support IT service transfer and business change objectives.
- Work with transferring site personnel, the migration and service transition team, and the primary IT Service Provider to validate and refine solution requirements.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to the migration and transition team.
- Ensure all solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise architecture and IT service management practices.
- Support the planning, testing, and execution of the IT services migration.
- Actively resolve or escalate issues as they arise.
- Contribute to maintaining safe, compliant, and secure operations, while supporting people change initiatives.
- Capture and share lessons learned, driving timely and continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Strong understanding of IT end-user services, end-user compute, infrastructure, and application/system migration strategies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent site migrations.
- Experience in developing and delivering IT service migration solutions within change, transformation, transition, or M&A contexts (desirable).
