Contract Type: Inside IR35

Day Rate: £350 per day inside IR35

Clearance Required: BPSS (Eligible)

Contract Length: Initial 3 months

Start Date: ASAP

Location & Travel

This is a hybrid role with occasional on-site requirements (approximately 1–2 days per month) at regional hubs, including:

  • London

Role Overview

An experienced QA Engineer is required to support the delivery of high-quality digital services within a large-scale central government environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring robust test coverage, enhancing automation frameworks, and supporting performance testing across critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks
  • Execute functional, integration, and performance testing
  • Collaborate with developers, product teams, and stakeholders to ensure quality standards
  • Identify, log, and track defects through to resolution
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and best practices
  • Support Agile delivery teams

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience with Java
  • Proven expertise in Selenium and Cucumber
  • Experience using Playwright for modern test automation
  • Solid background in performance testing
  • Experience working within central government or highly regulated environments
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working on large-scale digital transformation programmes
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Understanding of accessibility and security testing in regulated systems

Additional Information

  • Candidates must be eligible for BPSS clearance
  • This role falls inside IR35, requiring engagement via an approved umbrella company
