Principal Software Engineer

Our client, a scaling infrastructure powerhouse, is currently seeking a Principal Engineer.

This innovative company is fundamentally rewriting the rules of engagement between digital and physical components in the Age of AI. Their core mission is to unleash the full potential of sophisticated systems by delivering the most scalable, secure, and robust infrastructure solutions available—from development to massive-scale deployment.

The Opportunity: Build What Others Run On

Demand for their product is exploding, outpacing their current capacity. The Principal Engineer will be instrumental in meeting this demand, shaping the future of their platform, and growing their engineering team.

The ideal candidate must be a Go expert with the deep-seated knowledge to not just run services on Kubernetes, but to write the code that interacts directly with the K8s platform itself (e.g., controllers or operators, hot to scale,..).

Core Impact for the Principal Engineer

In this pivotal role, the successful candidate will be the driving force behind the platform's performance:

  • Architecting and Developing high-performance backend systems.
  • Designing and implementing scalable APIs that service global demand.
  • Building the next generation of infrastructure necessary to power cutting-edge AI workloads.

The Tech They Must Master

This is a senior role requiring expertise that moves beyond the basics:

  • Go (Golang): Deep, expert-level proficiency is non-negotiable.
  • Kubernetes (K8s): Proven experience writing code for Kubernetes (not just deploying to it).
  • SQL: Strong practical experience with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL (or similar).

Location & Logistics

  • Fully Remote: The role is open to candidates working from anywhere in the UK.
  • Important Note: Our client is unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.

The Perks: Engineering for Life

The client understands that world-class work requires world-class support. The Principal Engineer will enjoy:

  • Equity: A direct stake in the company's explosive growth.
  • Exceptional Leave: 30 days of annual leave + bank holidays.
  • Home Office Setup: A £400 budget on the first paycheck.
  • Financial Security: 5% pension contribution.
  • Wellbeing: Private Medical Insurance.
  • Growth: 12 L&D days per year dedicated to professional development.
  • Global Flexibility: The ability to work from abroad for up to 200 days a year!
