TwoSix Recruitment are supporting a growing MSP in Verwood who are looking for an IT Support Technician (1st Line) to join their busy service desk. This role is ideal for someone already working in IT support or someone who’s built up strong technical skills through home projects, PC building, gaming setups, or helping friends and family with IT issues.
If you enjoy problem-solving, learning new technologies and getting stuck into technical challenges, this could be a great step into a professional IT career.
The Role
You’ll be part of a friendly technical support team, providing first-line assistance to a wide range of customers. You’ll troubleshoot different issues every day, learn new systems and gain exposure to varied environments.
You’ll be:
- Providing 1st Line support via phone, email and remote tools
- Diagnosing and resolving technical issues across hardware, software and connectivity
- Logging and managing tickets from first contact through to resolution
- Supporting Microsoft 365 and Windows environments
- Troubleshooting LAN/WAN and managed Wi-Fi
- Keeping customers updated throughout the ticket lifecycle
- Escalating more complex issues to senior engineers
- Working to agreed SLAs and maintaining accurate ticket notes
About You
You don’t need formal IT support experience to be considered, but you do need a genuine interest in technology and a good foundation of hands-on skills.
You might already be:
- Building or repairing PCs at home
- Setting up networks, routers or Wi-Fi for yourself or others
- Troubleshooting Windows issues for friends/family
- Comfortable installing software, drivers and updates
- Interested in learning Microsoft 365, networking and wider infrastructure
- Gaming or running your own home lab
- Self-taught through YouTube, online courses or personal projects
Experience in a 1st Line Support, Helpdesk or Service Desk role is still very welcome, but not essential.
Experience within an MSP environment would be an advantage. A full UK driving licence is required.
