IT Support Assistant

Description

A long-established and growing business within the construction and industrial products sector is seeking an IT Support Assistant to join their close-knit, supportive team based in Doncaster.

This full-time, office-based role offers the chance to work in a collaborative environment, where employees are treated like family and supported to succeed. You'll play a key part in supporting users across various departments while contributing to the ongoing development of the IT function.

The Role

You will support all areas of the business — including Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Finance, and Warehouse — ensuring users can operate effectively. This is a hands-on and varied position that combines helpdesk support, system administration, and light technical project work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide IT support to internal users across all departments
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues as they arise
  • Manage and maintain a central log of IT activities
  • Support onboarding, offboarding, and user access changes
  • Assist with server patch management and application updates
  • Maintain asset registers, change logs, and key documentation
  • Liaise with external IT support partners and raise support tickets
  • Perform system security checks in line with company policy
  • Support reporting and data management using tools such as PowerBI and SQL
  • Help onboard external partners to document automation platforms
  • Supporting users with Microsoft 365 application (Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams etc), Azure, Dynamics 365 (Customer Service), Sage200, SageCRM, Smartsheet
  • Assisting with testing and deploying changes on the company websites
  • Data management in internal systems such as SharePoint
Requirements
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Azure, Dynamics 365 (Customer Service), and Sage 200/Sage CRM
  • Experience supporting a business of around 50+ users across multiple departments
  • Comfortable with remote helpdesk support and using various platforms
  • Basic understanding of SQL and experience creating reports in PowerBI or PanIntelligence
  • Proactive in supporting cyber security best practices
  • Experience working with internal systems such as SharePoint and Pimberly is desirable
