Oracle Fusion Systems Support Specialist - HCM

Job summary

The Finance, Performance, Assurance and Risk Division are currently seeking an Oracle Fusion Systems Support Specialist - HCM to deliver a professional and expert Money and People Systems (MaPS) support service to optimise decision making and financial and HR management across the agency.

MaPS is underpinned by Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and a comprehensive suite of Oracle Fusion applications including HCM, ERP, SCM, EPM, reporting and analytics modules.

Main duties of the job

To deliver professional and expert systems and support services to the Oracle Fusion HCM MaPS systems. Thereby enabling optimal decision making and people management across the agency.Key responsibilities include:

Systems

  • To provide HCM systems application support to ensure rapid solutions are provided to end user problems.
  • To provide advice on technical aspects of requirements into system development and integration, including requests for changes and deviations from specifications.
  • To understand and apply relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices.
  • To lead in the assurance of technical documentation and solutions in alignment with requirements and UKHSA strategic objectives.
  • To support the development of training documentation and courses to ensure all users have up to date guidance and support.
  • To gather system requirements and produce detailed analysis of those requirements, to arrive at credible and coherent solutions.
  • To liaise with other people and HR teams, communicating technical concepts and complex issues clearly and accurately and adapting communication style to suit the recipient.

Job responsibilities

Data Management

  • To provide expert advice regarding data management to internal stakeholders.

Intelligent Customer Function

  • To work with stakeholders to identify and solve issues.
  • To use insights from stakeholder engagement and data to effectively manage and improve the performance of systems and identify better ways of working.
  • To support the teams priorities and resourcing to ensure the effective delivery of the HCM, people systems, data and technology.
  • To provide expert advice regarding HCM systems and technology to stakeholders within the organisation and across government.
  • To enable and manage change that allows more flexibility, responsiveness and improved service delivery and user experience.

Role specific

  • To support, maintain, configure, and improve our Oracle Fusion HCM Applications.

The specific content of the role will be flexible, and the individual will be expected to work across/within different HCM modules and across different layers of the HCM solution and architecture as needed.

Essential Role Criteria

  • Experience in managing a Human Resources system (main criteria).
  • Experience of delivering and supporting HCM systems within an ITIL aligned organisation.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of managing change through the product delivery life cycle.
  • Demonstrable ability to engage and communicate technical concepts and complex issues with key stakeholders at an operational and strategic level.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have one or more of the following:
    • Oracle Fusion Process Essentials Certification or similar, or working towards an Oracle Foundation Certification,
    • PRINCE2, Agile or ITIL, either Foundation or working towards.

This role attracts a Market Pay Supplement (MPS) of £5,000 to be reviewed annually.

If you are successful at interview, and are moving from another government department, NHS, or Local Authority, the relevant starting salary principles for level transfers or promotions will apply. Otherwise, roles are offered at the pay scale minimum for the grade, but in exceptional circumstances there may be flexibility if you are able to demonstrate you are already in receipt of an existing, higher salary. This role is being offered as hybrid working based at any of our Core HQs - Birmingham (B2 4BH), Liverpool (L3 1DS), Leeds (LS2 7UE) and London/Canary Wharf (E14 4PU).

This provides us with greater flexibility about how and where we work, to get the best from our workforce. As a hybrid worker, you will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of your contractual working hours (approximately 3 days a week pro rata, (averaged over a month).
