Salary: Up to £82,000 depending on experience, plus 7.5% bonus
Location: London - Elephant & Castle or Camden
Working pattern: Permanent role with blended working after probation; 3 days in the office and 2 days remote

UK Power Networks is looking for an experienced Cyber Security Architect to help protect critical information assets across cloud, enterprise and operational technology environments. This is an opportunity to shape secure architecture for one of the UK's key energy networks, supporting the resilience of systems that serve millions of customers.
Reporting to the Cyber Security Architecture Manager, you will work within the Information Systems directorate, collaborating with cyber security, enterprise architecture, technical teams, service providers, project teams and innovation partners. You will develop security policies, standards, procedures, guidelines and blueprints that enable secure solutions across projects and operations.
You will act as a design authority for cyber security matters, contribute to technology roadmaps, create target and transition architectures, and support the development of cloud security and network architecture policies. You will also work closely with DevOps teams to promote secure-by-design principles, secure coding practices and improved security across cloud solutions and CI/CD pipelines.
This role offers the chance to make a visible impact in a regulated, critical national infrastructure environment. You will help UK Power Networks maintain regulatory compliance, strengthen technical and organisational resilience, and respond effectively to an evolving cyber threat landscape.
We are looking for someone with experience as a Cyber Security Architect, OT Cyber Security Architect, Cloud Security Architect, DevSecOps specialist or cyber engineering professional with architecture responsibilities. You should have strong knowledge of cyber security technologies and principles, ideally across Azure Cloud, Microsoft 365, operational technology or enterprise environments.
- Experience designing, implementing and supporting secure cyber solutions
- Knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as ISO27001:2022, Cyber Essentials, NCSC CAF, CSA Cloud Controls Matrix and GDPR
- Experience with Azure security, cloud security, network architecture, Infrastructure as Code, Terraform, AKS, Docker or secure DevOps practices
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to senior and non-technical audiences
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing and collaboration skills
- Relevant certifications such as AZ-500, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, CISSP, CISSP-ISSAP, CCSP, CCSK or CompTIA are desirable
