We’re seeking a highly skilled Acoustic Research Engineer to join a world-leading research and development team focused on advancing the future of audio technology and human hearing. This role is an exciting opportunity to work in a cutting-edge acoustic laboratory, featuring anechoic chambers and one of the world’s largest configurable acoustic environments.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll contribute to groundbreaking work in virtual acoustics, auditory perception, and real-world data collection, helping to develop technologies that bridge physical and virtual spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and conduct acoustic measurements and auditory perception experiments.
- Develop and implement systems for data acquisition and signal processing using Python, MATLAB, and MaxMSP.
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers to integrate acoustic data into experimental platforms.
- Plan, set up, and execute complex acoustic data capture sessions involving microphones, speakers, and wearable prototype devices.
- Document methodologies and results in high-quality technical reports.
Essential Requirements
- Master’s degree in Acoustics, Audio Engineering, Signal Processing, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of industry experience working on audio technology or acoustic system development.
- Proven track record of designing and executing controlled audio/acoustic experiments.
- Strong programming skills in Python and MATLAB (experience with MaxMSP is a plus).
- Deep understanding of acoustics and audio signal processing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in real-time audio coding with C/C++.
- Knowledge of psychoacoustics, spatial audio, room acoustics, or auditory perception.
- Familiarity with PyTorch or other machine learning frameworks for audio analysis.
- Experience working with prototype audio hardware, motion tracking systems, or automated data collection.
- Hands-on experience in setting up acoustic labs or test environments.
