Role: UI Designer – Gaming/VR
Location: Remote-UK
Duration: 6-month contract, with potential extension
About the Role
We are looking for a UI/UX Designer to join VR gaming team. This role will focus on designing immersive user interfaces for a rhythm-action VR game transitioning into a live service product with continuous content updates. You will work closely with game designers, engineers, and 3D artists to deliver a seamless and engaging player experience.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to innovative VR experiences, working on spatial UI and diegetic interfaces in 3D environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design intuitive and engaging VR interfaces, including menus and in-game HUDs.
- Build wireframes, prototypes, and visual UI elements using Figma.
- Maintain a cohesive design system and UI component library.
- Collaborate with designers, developers, and 3D artists to ensure smooth UI integration.
- Create vector icons, raster graphics, and optionally animated UI prototypes.
- Present your work in design reviews, incorporating feedback to refine designs.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proficient in Figma with experience in wireframing and prototyping.
- Experience in UI design for games, preferably VR or immersive experiences.
- Generalist mindset with flexibility and adaptability for a fast-changing project.
- 2–3 years of relevant design experience.
Nice-to-Have
- Familiarity with VR/AR design principles and spatial UI.
- Experience integrating UI in Unity or Unreal Engine.
- Skills in motion graphics and animation (After Effects or similar).
- Graphic design background and knowledge of accessibility in immersive environments.
- Familiarity with AI design tools.
