XR Product Designer

Role: XR Product Designer – Contract (6 Months- possible extension) – Remote (UK)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced XR Product Designer to join an advanced technology team working on next-generation immersive collaboration tools. This is a unique opportunity to design innovative AR/VR product experiences that push the boundaries of spatial computing and the future of work.

This role is ideal for a designer with deep AR/VR experience, strong interaction design, and the ability to take highly ambiguous concepts and turn them into clear, usable, high-fidelity prototypes.

You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and research partners to define, prototype, and refine new interaction models within immersive environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design for complex and ambiguous XR product features from concept to prototype
• Create spatial workflows, 3D interactions, and immersive UI layouts
• Translate conceptual ideas into high-quality storyboards, wireframes, flows, and Figma prototypes
• Rapidly explore multiple design solutions and iterate at speed
• Develop new visual and interaction patterns that extend beyond existing design systems
• Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and researchers
• Contribute to strategic direction for immersive collaboration and future-of-work experiences
• Provide clear design rationale and feedback across an interdisciplinary team

Essential Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of experience in Product Design, Interaction Design, or UX
• Proven background in AR/VR/XR design and spatial interaction
• Strong systems thinking and product strategy
• Expert proficiency in Figma
• Ability to design for highly ambiguous, 01 product spaces
• Experience placing and designing virtual content within 3D environments
• Confident presenting and defending design decisions to cross-functional teams

Nice to Have

• Experience with Unity or other real-time engines
• Background in game design, spatial computing, or immersive prototyping
• Familiarity with AI-assisted design workflows
