Job Title: Head of Development & QA

Total Experience Required: 8 to 10+ Information Technology/Computers/Software

Relevant Experience Required: 5+ years in QA, 5+ years in software development using C# and .NET, including REST API design

Work Location: Manchester, UK

1. Must be currently based in Manchester, UK, or
2. Willing to relocate to Manchester, UK from anywhere within Europe or UK
3. Candidates outside Europe/UK unfortunately cannot be considered

Job Type: Fulltime with the client

Visa/Work Authorization Status: Candidates must hold a valid work permit or visa to work in the UK

Workplace Type: Hybrid (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday at office)

Languages Required: English

We are seeking an experienced Head of Development & QA to lead a high-performing team in delivering scalable, secure, and high-quality software solutions. This leadership role requires a strong technical background in .NET development, Agile/DevOps practices, and a passion for fostering innovation and excellence across development and QA functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor development and QA teams to deliver robust software solutions
• Define and enforce engineering and QA standards, methodologies, and best practices
• Drive automation, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps integration
• Align development strategy with business priorities and stakeholder expectations
• Oversee technical design, resource planning, and vendor coordination

Top 5 Essential Skills

• Team leadership in software development and QA
• Expertise in C#, .NET, and REST API design
• Proficiency with Agile and DevOps practices
• Strong knowledge of test automation frameworks
• Experience with cloud environments (preferably Azure)

Top 5 Optional Skills

• Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Background in large-scale enterprise projects
• Certifications in Agile, DevOps, or Project Management
• Experience managing vendor relationships
• Familiarity with budget and resource planning
