Solutions Architect

Location: Nottingham (3 days office, 2 days remote)

Role Overview:

Design IT systems that meet business requirements and align with overall strategy and architecture. Act as an expert within your portfolio, evaluating and recommending solutions for optimal outcomes. Work independently on low complexity projects and with limited supervision on more complex initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess business ideas, scope projects, and support feasibility analysis and estimation
• Define and catalogue functional and non-functional requirements
• Produce high-level and detailed system designs, ensuring alignment with business needs and IT strategy
• Act as Technical Design Authority, supervising and reviewing designs from team members and partners
• Build strong relationships with business and IT stakeholders
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices
• Share knowledge, onboard new team members, and help maintain design standards and patterns

Performance Measures:

• Timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery of designs
• Accuracy and improvement of project estimates
• Feedback from design reviews, stakeholders, and team members
• Quality of collaboration and support provided

Skills & Experience:

Essential:

• Broad understanding of IT capabilities, methods, and technologies
• Strong experience in designing and developing IT solutions
• Ability to influence stakeholders on solution decisions

Desirable:

• Experience with onshore/offshore teams
• Experience in retail or similar sectors
• Expert knowledge of business processes (e.g., Finance, Supply Chain)
