Job Title: AWS Service Developer
Location: Glasgow, UK - Hybrid: 3 Days to Office Every Week

Roles & Responsibilities:
We are looking for an AWS Services Developer (3-5 years overall experience) who can design, develop, and support cloud-native backend solutions using AWS managed services. The ideal candidate will focus on building scalable, secure, and resilient services and integrations within complex enterprise and public-sector application landscapes. This role requires strong hands-on cloud engineering skills, a solid understanding of event-driven and orchestration patterns, and the ability to collaborate effectively with application, DevOps, and architecture teams in agile delivery environments.
Technical Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS managed services, particularly Step Functions, SQS/SNS, and Amazon S3.
- Experience designing and developing cloud-native, event-driven, and integration-focused solutions on AWS.
- Strong understanding of AWS security best practices, including IAM, encryption, logging, and monitoring.
- Experience building and integrating AWS services with application, middleware, and enterprise integration layers.
- Experience working in enterprise-scale or regulated environments.
- Designing scalable, fault‐tolerant serverless workflows using Step Functions
Process Skills:
- Design and develop orchestration workflows using AWS Step Functions to support complex business processes.
- Implement asynchronous processing and messaging patterns using AWS SQS/SNS or equivalent queueing services.
- Develop and manage data storage, transfer, and integration using Amazon S3.
- Ensure AWS solutions meet non-functional requirements related to security, scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Support deployment activities, troubleshooting, and operational readiness across environments.
Certification:
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Developer – Associate, AWS Certified Solution Architect are desirable.
