(Hybrid, 1dpw in London)
We are partnered with a high-growth provider of enterprise software for digital asset operations, they deliver robust back-office tools and data systems that handle critical accounting, compliance reporting, and workflow automation for large institutions, banks, and native players in the digital asset space.
The platform is used by prominent organizations including major stablecoin providers, established financial institutions, top decentralized protocols, leading exchanges, and even public-sector entities. They've secured substantial backing from well-known venture firms and specialist funds in the sector.
They're now looking to bring on an Engineering Manager to oversee a group of approximately 12 engineers across data-oriented teams. This is a leadership position centered on team development, clear direction, and reliable output in a dynamic, high-velocity setting — focused on people management rather than individual coding.
What you'll be doing:
- Guide and develop engineering teams with consistent coaching, performance discussions, and structured career progression.
- Establish the environment and processes that let teams deliver predictably and at speed.
- Work hand-in-hand with Product to define roadmaps and drive delivery.
- Spot and eliminate obstacles in workflows, collaboration, and operations.
- Recruit and build engineering capability across France and the UK.
- Provide strong technical perspective, question choices, preserve architectural health and sustainability, without daily hands-on development.
Experience needed:
- Multiple years leading engineering as a Manager in SaaS or rapidly scaling companies.
- Genuine engineering foundation — able to contribute meaningfully to technical conversations.
- Demonstrated success growing and steering strong teams during expansion or transitions.
- Track record managing teams spread across different locations and time zones.
Ideally the client is seeking managers who have scaled groups in product-driven organizations (prior exposure to data-intensive or backend-heavy platforms is highly valued).
Nice-to-have / bonus:
- Working knowledge of contemporary backend technologies such as Rust or Node.js.
- Prior involvement in financial services, blockchain-related projects, or regulated systems — though adaptability and quick learning are far more important than perfect domain match.
Package/Benefits:
- Strong base salary aligned with top market rates.
- Significant equity.
- Generous holiday allowance.
- Company MacBook Pro + home office setup.
