Day Rate: Up to £750 per day Inside IR35

We're looking for an experienced Head of Applications to lead the Enterprise Applications function for a large, multi-site organisation undergoing significant systems modernisation and integration activity. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day service and stability of a broad enterprise application estate, while shaping and delivering the roadmap for technical upgrades, application optimisation, and continuous improvement.
This is a leadership role that combines operational ownership, team management, vendor oversight, and strategic planning - ideal for someone who has led complex application environments within large organisations.
Key Experience Needed
- Strong background managing enterprise applications and technical integrations
- Experience leading application modernisation or upgrade programmes
- Confidence in both strategic planning and hands-on technical delivery
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including communication at senior and executive levels
- Experience managing cross-functional teams
- Vendor management experience, ideally across major platforms such as Oracle, Salesforce, or similar enterprise systems
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of Enterprise Applications services to ensure technology supports the organisation's business strategy
- Manage internal teams, contractors, and external partners responsible for enterprise application delivery
- Oversee daily operations across ERP, CRM, HR, document management, and other business-critical platforms
- Maintain an evergreen application estate by driving upgrades, patching, and vulnerability remediation
- Develop and manage application roadmaps aligned to business needs
- Lead Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning for the application landscape
- Manage commercial relationships with software vendors and service providers
- Ensure all applications adhere to ITGC standards, security frameworks, and data protection regulations
- Oversee SaaS subscriptions, budgets, and FinOps activities
