Microsoft Fabric Architect (Contract)

Contract Length: Up to 6 Months (likely to extend)

Location: Remote

Day Rate: £550 (Outside IR35)

We’re looking for a Microsoft Fabric Architect to lead a greenfield data platform build within a growing organisation looking to modernise its data estate.

You’ll take ownership of the end-to-end architecture, designing and delivering a scalable Lakehouse solution using Microsoft Fabric. This role requires someone who can operate hands-on while also setting direction, standards and best practices across the platform. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you’ll shape the roadmap and drive the solution through to production.

Key Experience Required

Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric
Experience building end-to-end Lakehouse solutions
Good data modelling skills (e.g. star schema)
Experience using PySpark or Spark SQL
Building data pipelines from APIs, ERP or SaaS systems
Working with Fabric pipelines, notebooks and Dataflows
Understanding of data governance and security
Able to work independently and lead delivery

Bonus Points

Experience with Databricks or Azure Synapse
Power BI modelling and DAX
Experience building platforms from scratch
Experience working in organisations with limited existing data structure
