Our exclusive Consulting partner urgently requires the services of a Principal / Lead Technical Architect on a Contract basis, to help deliver a high-profile project for a Government customer.
We're looking for a highly experienced Technical Architect with a strong Software Engineering background, and strong experience working on Public Sector projects.
Skills & Experience for Principal Technical Architect:
An expert-level Principal Technical Architect with a strong software engineering
background who can define intentional architecture across complex, multi-programme environments.
Must be capable of operating at a strategic, high-level while also diving into
the technical detail to propose solutions.
Technical Skills:
Architecture Experience: Proven experience in defining and assuring
architecture, specifically focusing on Capability Level Architecture for core business areas such as Order Management, Activity Management, and Application Processing.
Software Engineering Foundation: Deep technical fluency gained from hands-on
software development, ideally with experience governing applications built on
strategic stacks, including Java (Spring Boot) and Python, and ensuring they align
with cloud-native principles (AWS).
Design & Documentation: Expert ability to develop and assure formal
Architectural Design Plans (ADPs), Roadmaps, and other key architectural
deliverables.
Technical Authority: Ability to validate the technical approach for emergent designs
and provide domain-specific knowledge to improve overall architectural quality.
People/Process Skills:
Stakeholder Management (Varying Levels): Expert ability to manage
stakeholders and influence senior leaders (Head of Architecture, Senior Delivery
Managers) and technical teams across multiple delivery streams.
Architectural Progression: Proven ability to actively drive the creation, review, and
approval of Architectural Design Plans to ensure timely progression of strategic
initiatives.
Cross-Team Leadership: Demonstrated experience providing architectural
governance and direction across several concurrent, independent agile teams.
