The Fire & Security Engineer Opportunity

The Fire & Security Engineer will be working for a well-established fire and security systems specialist who are in the search for an experienced Fire & Security Engineer to join their growing engineering team.

This role will involve working across commercial and high-specification environments, carrying out installation, servicing, maintenance, and fault-finding on a range of life safety and electronic security systems. The business delivers integrated solutions across fire alarms, CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, suppression systems, and associated technologies.

Key Responsibilities of the Fire & Security Engineer

  • Service, maintain, and fault-find on fire and security systems across commercial sites
  • Work on fire alarms, CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, and associated systems
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive callouts
  • Assist with installations, commissioning, and system upgrades where required
  • Accurately complete service reports and compliance documentation
  • Ensure all works are completed in line with industry standards and health & safety requirements
  • Provide a high level of customer service and technical support on site
  • Participate in an on-call rota when required
  • Liaise with clients and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery

Requirements of the Fire & Security Engineer

  • Previous experience working within the fire and security industry
  • Strong fault-finding and maintenance experience across fire and/or electronic security systems
  • Knowledge of systems including fire alarms, CCTV, intruder alarms, and access control
  • Understanding of current industry regulations and standards
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills
  • Relevant industry qualifications or manufacturer training advantageous
