Business Development Consultant – Hybrid Role
We are looking for an experienced and driven Business Development Consultant to join our team. Operating in a specialist sector with long sales cycles, this role demands both a hunter's mindset and a farmer's persistence—someone who can win new business and nurture strategic relationships.
You'll be responsible for identifying and developing opportunities, crafting compelling value propositions, and converting prospects into clients. Your focus will be on driving net new revenue—whether through breaking into new accounts or expanding existing ones—while helping shape our growth trajectory.
You'll thrive in a complex, consultative sales environment, be deeply customer-focused, and passionate about AI and digital transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and engage new business opportunities across targeted verticals.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline through outbound activity, networking, and market research.
- Develop tailored proposals aligned with client challenges and Unilink's solutions.
- Lead the full sales cycle from first contact to contract close.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with business development, product, marketing, and technical teams.
- Represent Unilink at industry events, webinars, and client meetings.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline forecasting, and sales reporting.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- 3+ years of experience in B2B software or SaaS sales, ideally within the public sector, justice, or institutional markets.
- A track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets in complex sales cycles.
- A genuine interest in AI, automation, and digital transformation—ideally with hands-on use in your current role.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Highly self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working autonomously.
- Strong commercial insight and the ability to tailor complex solutions to customer needs.
Desirable
- Experience selling into government or regulated sectors.
- Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g. Sugar, HubSpot).
- Understanding of AI/ML applications in enterprise environments.
