Job Purpose As the Director of Solutions Engineering at Unily, you will lead a global team dedicated to showcasing our platform's capabilities to address each client’s unique organizational challenges. You will craft and implement our global presales strategy, ensuring your team effectively translates prospect and customer needs into tailored, compelling product demonstrations and proposals. Reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer, you’ll bridge sales and product teams, contributing directly to roadmap discussions and ensuring alignment between client requirements and product evolution. Your blend of leadership, technical proficiency, consultative selling, and strategic thinking will drive growth and ensure exceptional customer experiences. Main Responsibilities Strategic Leadership- Build, lead, and mentor a team of Solutions Engineers across key regions.
- Define and execute the SE vision, structure, and operating model to align with the company’s growth strategy.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Product to refine messaging, improve sales efficiency, and ensure win rates.
- Develop and implement scalable sales consulting and technical frameworks, methodologies, and best practices to ensure consistency across regions
- Build and nurture strategic relationships with key clients, partners, and internal stakeholders
- Own technical pre-sales processes including discovery, solution design, demos, RFPs/RFIs, and PoCs.
- Enable SEs to become trusted advisors to enterprise prospects and customers.
- Optimize SE engagement model across deal stages, segments, and geographies.
- Participate in the pre-sales process to provide technical expertise and implementation guidance
- Collaborate with Sales teams to qualify opportunities and understand client requirements
- Support the development of technical presentations and demonstrations for prospective clients
- Address technical questions and concerns during client meetings and proposal discussions
- Contribute to RFP/RFI responses with detailed technical implementation approaches
- Ensure that client challenges, goals and requirements are well documented and shared with our implementation teams so they have client context at project kick-off
- Conduct discovery sessions to understand client requirements and objectives
- Serve as the voice of the customer to inform product roadmap and feature prioritization.
- Collaborate with RevOps and Enablement to define KPIs, tooling, and training programs.
- Work with Professional Services and Customer Success to ensure a smooth handoff and strong post-sale architecture alignment.
- Establish trust and credibility with prospective clients through technical expertise
- Track SE performance metrics (conversion rates, attach rates, cycle time).
- Implement scalable processes, playbooks, and knowledge management tools.
- Drive continuous improvement through data, feedback, and field intelligence.
- Analyze win/loss outcomes to identify improvement opportunities in pre-sales approach
- Stay current on product features, capabilities, and implementation best practices
- Contribute to the development of pre-sales SKUs, methodologies and tools
- Share knowledge and insights with the broader pre-sales and delivery organizations
- Identify patterns in client requirements to inform service offering development
- 8+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Pre-Sales, or similar roles at a B2B SaaS company, with 3+ years in a leadership capacity. Experience supporting enterprise-level sales ($100K–$1M+ ACV).
- Strong technical background
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven track record of scaling SE teams in high-growth environments.
- Comfortable working across time zones, cultures, and virtual teams.
- Experience with MEDDICC, Command of the Message, or similar sales methodologies.
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently
- Collaborative approach to working with sales and delivery teams
