Bank Digital Services Infrastructure Technician - Band 5
Job summary
We are recruiting for an exciting opportunity within Lincolnshire Digital Services to support the Infrastructure project team in delivering a desktop hardware refresh across GP practices throughout Lincolnshire.
Main duties of the job
This role requires strong field engineering skills, and the confidence to troubleshoot technical issues, including liaising with third parties when necessary. Accuracy in documentation and record-keeping is essential, and you will be expected to uphold a consistently high professional standard.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Attending GP practices to replace desktop hardware
- Ensuring all software and clinical applications function correctly after device replacement
- Confirming with the practice manager that systems are fully operational
- Providing support and guidance to delivery technicians working alongside you

This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.
The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Degree level qualification in an ICT related subject or equivalent experience.
- ITIL Foundation Qualification or equivalent experience of IT service management.
Previous Experience
- Experience of operating systems, software and associated technologies. (MS/Cisco/Dell/Aruba)
- Experience of managing/supporting enterprise software such as Microsoft/VMware/Cisco.
- Experience of effective team working.
- Experience of enterprise infrastructure such as data centres, networking, storage and servers
- Experience of working within an NHS IT Environment.
- Experience of configuration and / or development of Enterprise security systems
- Experience of Microsoft SQL Server.
Evidence of Particular
- Good written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of using scripts in a Microsoft environment.
- Good technical awareness with the ability to fault find on complex systems.
- Awareness and Knowledge of the dignity in care agenda
- Ability to evidence/demonstrate key values and behaviours in line with the Trust framework: Patient Centred Safety Compassion Respect and Excellence

- Ability to travel to meet the requirements of the post
