Job summary
We are recruiting for two vacancies within the Education & Talent Team: one permanent position and one fixed-term position for 12 months. Both roles offer an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and forward-thinking team committed to delivering high-quality education and workforce development services across the Group. This role is ideal for an organised and customer-focused individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to contribute to the development of our workforce across Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group.
As a key member of the team, you will provide high-quality administrative support to a wide range of education and training activities. You will help coordinate learning and development opportunities, maintain accurate training records across a number of digital systems, and support colleagues, learners and external training providers. The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service, have strong attention to detail, and be confident using IT systems and databases.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the effective delivery of education and training programmes across the organisation by administering course bookings, maintaining learner records, and ensuring education systems are updated accurately and efficiently. You will use a range of digital platforms, including the Electronic Staff Record (ESR), Digital Apprenticeship Service (DAS), and other learner management systems to support the learner journey and maintain compliance with organisational requirements. You will be responsible for responding to training enquiries, producing course materials, supporting reporting requirements, arranging venues and resources, and assisting colleagues with administrative processes. Working closely with internal stakeholders, managers, learners and external providers, you will play an important role in ensuring education and training services are delivered to a high standard and contribute positively to workforce development across the Group.

This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.
The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).

Job responsibilities
The Business Support Assistant provides comprehensive administrative support to the Education & Talent Team, ensuring the smooth coordination and delivery of education, training and development activities. The role involves maintaining training records, managing course bookings, producing registers and training materials, processing learner information, and supporting the administration of mandatory training, corporate induction and apprenticeship activity. The post holder will also contribute to data collection and reporting, assist with purchase order requisitions, and help maintain departmental resources and processes. This is a varied role requiring excellent organisational and communication skills. The successful candidate will routinely liaise with staff, learners, managers and external education providers, responding to enquiries and providing a professional and efficient service. Working within established procedures, the post holder will prioritise their workload effectively, maintain high levels of accuracy and confidentiality, and contribute to the continuous improvement of education services. They will work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider People Directorate to support the delivery of a seamless and high-quality people service for the organisation. Person Specification
Qualifications
- English and Maths GCSE A*-C / GCSE 4-9, or Functional Skills Level 2
- Level 3 Vocational Qualification - i.e. Business Administration, Customer Services or equivalent experience
- CT Level 2 Qualification or equivalent experience
- Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD)
Skills/Competencies
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Able to work to deadlines with good time management and organisation skills.
- Ability to communicate with staff at all levels.
- Able to work on own initiative or with minimal supervision.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to establish good working relationships within a team.
- Able to use ICT systems relevant to role, including Management Information Systems and MS Office, using keyboard skills (e.g.: PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Excel).
Knowledge
- Knowledge and/or understanding of using databases.
- Knowledge and understanding of ESR.
Experience
- Experience of working with workforce systems/maintaining databases via data input.
- Experience of providing administrative support in a busy office environment
- Experience of working with a customer service or office environment.
- Experience of using ESR / DAS / Other departmental systems and processes
