Job summary
We are seeking an exceptional Cancer Senior Data Analyst to lead the development of cancer intelligence and analytics across Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group and United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in improving cancer services, supporting earlier diagnosis, reducing waiting times and improving outcomes for patients across Lincolnshire.
As the lead specialist for cancer analytics, you will work with clinical, operational and executive leaders to provide expert insight that informs decision-making at organisational and system level. You will develop dashboards, performance reports and analytical products that support delivery of national cancer standards and drive service improvement.
We are looking for a highly skilled analyst with experience of interpreting complex datasets, producing meaningful insights and communicating findings to a wide range of stakeholders. Strong analytical, communication and influencing skills are essential.

Main duties of the job
As the Cancer Senior Data Analyst, you will lead the delivery of a high-quality cancer intelligence and analytics service, supporting operational performance, strategic planning and service transformation across Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group and United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
As the organisation's lead specialist for cancer analytics, you will translate complex data into meaningful intelligence that improves cancer pathways and patient outcomes. Working closely with clinical, operational and executive leaders, you will provide analysis and insight that informs decision-making at organisational and system level.
You will develop and maintain dashboards, performance reports and analytical products that support delivery of key national cancer standards, including Faster Diagnosis Standard and Cancer Waiting Times targets. Using data from multiple sources, you will identify trends, risks and opportunities to support performance improvement and service redesign.
We are seeking an experienced analyst with strong problem-solving, communication and influencing skills. You will be confident working with complex datasets, presenting findings to diverse audiences and building effective relationships across teams and organisations.

Grantham and District Hospital serves the communities of Grantham and the local area. It provides ambulatory paediatric and accident and emergency services.
Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) have come together in a Group arrangement, with the goal of improving the care provided to patients across the county.
This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.
The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).

As the Cancer Senior Data Analyst, you will lead the delivery of expert cancer analytics and intelligence, providing high-quality insight to support performance improvement, strategic planning and service transformation across Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group and United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
You will act as the organisation's specialist lead for cancer data, working closely with clinical, operational and executive colleagues to provide analysis and intelligence that supports the delivery of national cancer standards and improved patient outcomes.
The role includes developing innovative dashboards and reporting solutions, analysing complex datasets, identifying risks and opportunities, and presenting actionable insights to a wide range of stakeholders. You will also provide leadership and support to analytical colleagues, helping to develop capability and promote best practice in data analysis and reporting.
Working collaboratively with teams across the organisation and wider healthcare system, you will play a key role in driving data-led decision making, service improvement and transformation across cancer services. Person Specification
Qualifications
- Degree-level qualification in analytics, statistics, informatics, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Postgraduate-level knowledge or equivalent experience in advanced data analysis
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Leadership or management training/experience
- Professional accreditation, for example, data/analytics related
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline
Skills/competencies
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate complex data clearly to non-technical audiences
