Junior Systems Specialist - Band 5
Job summary
The Digital Services Department is implementing a new structure to ensure it can most effectively support the Trust on its digital transformation journey.
This post is for a member of the Applications Services function, responsible for the support and development of critical IT systems required to support the Trust, including its clinical and administrative services, and for those services where we collaborate or provide a service, including the Lincolnshire ICS.
The Trust has sites in Lincoln, Boston and Grantham. The base of the post holder will be discussed and agreed with the successful applicant.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will need to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues within the Digital Services Department, including working closely with our Digital Transformation Department to support the delivery of the Digital Strategy. The post holder will communicate regularly with staff within all Lincolnshire NHS organisations and with external suppliers.
The successful candidate will be working towards or have a Degree level qualification in an IT related subject or equivalent experience.

Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) have come together in a Group arrangement, with the goal of improving the care provided to patients across the county.
This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.
The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Degree level qualification (or equivalent experience)
- ITIL Foundation Qualification or equivalent experience of IT service management
Previous Experience
- Experience of Microsoft Windows operating systems, software and associated technologies
- Experience of programming and script
- Experience of effective team working
- Management of large-scale enterprise IT applications or critical systems
- Experience of working within an NHS IT Environment
Skills
- Awareness and Knowledge of the dignity in care agenda.
- Ability to evidence/demonstrate key values and behaviours in line with the Trust framework
- Good written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of querying databases using the SQL querying language.
- Good technical awareness with the ability to fault find on complex systems.
- Knowledge of large-scale software application maintenance and support
- Knowledge and experience of managing and developing Microsoft SQL Server database systems
- Ability to write complex programming code
