To provide administrative and clerical support with regard to purchasing, invoicing and stocktaking of pharmaceuticals and the provision of cost and product availability to Pharmacy Depts. within United Lincolnshire NHS Trust in accordance with Trust standard financial instructions.

Main duties of the job

To assist with the accurate, timely and cost effective procurement of medicines, medical gases and associated sundries.

Responsible for the reconciliation, processing and investigation of invoices for payment of pharmaceutical products on behalf of the Trust.

Investigation of any queries, anomalies and escalate to managers as required.

Action monthly statements from suppliers and weekly automated invoice batch processing and accuracy checking.

Act as a point of contact for invoicing, contract, pricing information for Pharmacy staff.

Assist Pharmacy procurement team with rolling Stocktaking programme and any other associated duties.

Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.

The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential
  • NVQ Level 2 in Business and Administration or equivalent, or by demonstration of experience, knowledge and skills at this level relevant to these qualifications
  • Minimum 2 GCSE's or equivalent at grade A-C, including English and Maths
Desirable
  • Procurement or book-keeping qualification
  • Computer/IT certificate (ECDL)

Previous Experience

  • Experience of Financial systems and Processes
  • Experience of processing financial transactions, invoices and orders
  • Basic knowledge of IT software, particularly working knowledge Excel spreadsheets
