The interesting bits

As a lead you will be close to technical decisions, roadmap and future planning for the business. Managing day2day priorities and workload of your team. You will also mentor, coach and inspire your colleagues to be the best they can be. Creating an environment fostering great communication, support and a healthy working life for colleagues.

There is a lot of training and development given to all, and an important part of this role is to guide your team down their individual learning paths.

The technology

A sophisticated tech estate. Golang is increasingly being used for back-end, lots of typescript, kafka, kubernetes, GCP cloud.

For this role we are not concerned about tech skills / background, more that you can contribute to technical decisions and help engineers in design, problem solving and finding solutions. You will need to have an engineering background, still be able to code but that won't be the day2day job.

AI tools are of course being used and experiments are underway to find the best solutions.

The skills we seek

We are looking for someone who is experienced managing software developers. Bring our learnings, battle scars and ideas to enrich our environment.

You will need some technical know-how, having been an engineer yourself

This is a large engineering team (1000+ colleagues) and your team will be 8-15 strong. There are well established processes in place, with room for improvement of course.
