API Management Technical Lead

Location: Glasgow

5 days onsite

Contract: 6 months

Rate: Up to £425 per day

Experience required: 6-8+ years

We are looking for an experienced API Management Technical Lead to join a major Financial Services environment on an initial 6-month contract.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone with strong experience in API Management, cloud-native technologies, DevOps and modern API Gateway platforms.

Key Skills & Experience Required

• 6-8+ years of relevant software, platform or API engineering experience

• Strong hands-on experience with an API Management platform such as Kong, Apigee or MuleSoft

• Advanced programming experience in Golang and/or Lua

• Strong understanding of OpenAPI Specification (OAS) and RESTful API design

• Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing and production/operational stability

• Strong experience with CI/CD and automation

• Practical cloud-native engineering experience

• Strong Kubernetes and Terraform experience

• Good understanding of DevOps practices and continuous delivery

• Proven experience working within Financial Services/Banking environments

• Experience with API Gateway technologies and API management concepts

Highly Desirable

• Strong hands-on experience with Kong API Gateway

• AWS experience including ECS, EKS and MSK

• Experience with CDN, WAF and networking

• Kong plugin development or customisation

• Strong Golang development background

• Strong Lua Scripting experience

• 5 days onsite is mandatory

• Candidates must have 6-8+ years of relevant experience

• Strong Financial Services experience is essential

• Maximum rate is £425 per day

• Initial contract length: 6 months
